Following sankalp, the Shivling is bathed in sequence with water, milk, curd, ghee, honey, sugar and Ganga jal while the Rudri is chanted, usually completed in Ekadashi or Laghu Rudra form (11 or 121 repetitions). The ceremony closes with bilva-patra offering, dhoop-deep and Shiv Aarti.संकल्प के पश्चात, शिवलिंग को क्रमशः जल, दूध, दही, घी, शहद, शक्कर एवं गंगाजल से स्नान कराया जाता है जबकि रुद्री का पाठ किया जाता है, जो सामान्यतः एकादशी अथवा लघुरुद्र रूप (11 या 121 बार) में पूर्ण होता है। समारोह बिल्वपत्र अर्पण, धूप-दीप एवं शिव आरती के साथ समाप्त होता है।
