Satyanarayan Pooja is one of the most familiar home ceremonies in North India — combining pooja, the five-chapter Satyanarayan Katha, and prasad of sooji halwa (panchamrit charnamrit). Families commission it after a wish is fulfilled, on birthdays, anniversaries, house-warmings, or simply as a periodic act of gratitude.
